Responsibilities
- Network Defense: Monitor, analyze, and defend the organization's network infrastructure against cyber threats, intrusions, and vulnerabilities.
- Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with federal regulations (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
- Incident Response: Lead and coordinate incident response efforts to contain and remediate security breaches efficiently.
- Policy Implementation: Develop, update, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with government mandates.
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software systems used by federal personnel.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of system configurations, audit trails, and security incidents.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications: Active Secret Security Clearance is required; CISSP, CEH, or Security+ certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network engineering, or IT support within a government or defense contracting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network security tools (e.g., Firewalls, IDS/IPS), SIEM platforms, and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- US Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
