Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time.
- Implement and maintain security protocols in compliance with NIST and FISMA frameworks.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans of federal systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity and availability of critical data.
- Document incident responses and prepare detailed reports for senior leadership.
- Maintain and update firewall configurations and intrusion detection systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff regarding security best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field (or equivalent work experience).
- Active Secret Security Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience with network security tools and intrusion detection systems.
- Knowledge of federal regulatory standards (NIST SP 800-53, FISMA).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching protocols.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting purposes.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
