Role Overview:
As an IT Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our network environments and ensuring compliance with federal security mandates. You will work in a dynamic environment where your expertise directly contributes to national security and public service.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect federal information systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and penetration testing to ensure compliance with FISMA and NIST standards.
- Manage the lifecycle of IT assets, including the deployment, configuration, and decommissioning of hardware and software.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for end-users and internal stakeholders across various locations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure network architectures and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitor system performance and analyze logs to proactively identify and resolve security incidents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Active Secret security clearance (or the ability to obtain one) is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in network administration, information security, or a related technical field.
- Deep knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53 and FISMA.
- Proficiency in managing firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
