Job Summary:
The IT Specialist will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of federal information systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data security, system reliability, and compliance with federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain federal IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and applications.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Implement and enforce information security protocols to protect sensitive federal data.
- Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with FISMA standards.
- Provide technical training and support to agency staff and federal employees.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for system upgrades and repairs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Active Secret Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
- 3+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network engineering.
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud computing platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance (NIST, FISMA).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
