Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) for government facilities.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and manage cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data and infrastructure.
- Configure and manage servers, firewalls, and virtualization technologies.
- Provide technical support and training to city staff regarding software applications and IT policies.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to optimize network efficiency.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification such as CompTIA Network+ or Security+ is highly desired.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud services (Azure/AWS).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required for government clearance eligibility.
