Responsibilities
- Lead Project Delivery: Direct the planning, execution, and closing of complex IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders, city agencies, and vendors, providing clear updates and managing expectations effectively.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success.
- Resource Allocation: Manage budgets, resources, and team capacity to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
- Agile Methodologies: Champion Agile and Scrum practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement and rapid delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee testing and quality control processes to guarantee the reliability and security of government systems.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT project management, preferably within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Certification: PMP, CAPM, or Prince2 certification is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, MS Project) and strong understanding of software development lifecycles.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- NYC Residency: Must be a resident of New York City (common requirement for city roles).
