Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the local and wide-area network infrastructure, ensuring 99.9% uptime for government services.
- Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive state data against threats and breaches.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and guidance to internal staff and agency partners across California.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to optimize resource allocation.
- Collaborate with project managers to integrate new software solutions and legacy system upgrades.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent years of experience.
- Active CompTIA Security+ or higher certification is required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering.
- Strong proficiency with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and virtualization technologies.
- Ability to obtain a State of California Public Trust Clearance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
