Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and server hardware to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor system security and implement firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls to protect sensitive county data.
- Provide advanced technical support and training to county staff regarding hardware, software, and network applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy new IT solutions that enhance operational workflows.
- Conduct regular system backups, maintenance checks, and disaster recovery planning to minimize downtime.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate records of all system configurations and changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in network administration, systems engineering, or IT support.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability required.
- Experience with Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA are highly preferred.
