Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the county's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) to ensure optimal connectivity.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Manage and secure data systems, including the implementation of disaster recovery plans and database administration.
- Provide advanced technical support and training to county employees regarding hardware, software, and security protocols.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure optimal system performance and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in network administration or systems engineering.
- Valid certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Security+ are highly desirable.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Server environments, Active Directory, and cloud infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
