Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies for federal systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical infrastructure
- Monitor network traffic using SIEM tools to detect and respond to security incidents
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Lead incident response activities during security breaches and cyber attacks
- Create and maintain security documentation including policies, procedures, and audit reports
- Train federal employees on cybersecurity best practices and protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience in federal or regulated environments
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Expertise in network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
- Proficiency in incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Strong knowledge of federal compliance requirements (FISMA, NIST 800-53)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
