Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the security of local and wide-area network infrastructure.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and implement security patches to mitigate risks.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for federal and state government applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal regulations (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
- Monitor network traffic for anomalies and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for IT security operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Cisco CCNA is preferred.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
