The Role:
As an IT Specialist, you will serve as a technical expert, providing end-to-end support for federal IT infrastructure. You will ensure the availability, integrity, and security of mission-critical systems while adhering to strict federal regulations and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- System Administration: Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot complex IT systems, including servers, networks, and workstations within federal environments.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Technical Support: Provide Tier 3-level support to federal clients, resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, security audits, and incident reports in accordance with federal documentation standards.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT upgrades and assist in the deployment of new technologies.
- Training: Conduct user training sessions and create knowledge base articles to improve overall system literacy among staff.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess (or be able to obtain) a Secret Clearance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent years of technical experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional IT experience in a federal or government contracting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and virtualization technologies (VMware).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Security: Ability to adhere to strict government security policies and ethical standards.
