Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will provide 24/7 technical support, troubleshooting, and system administration for federal networks. You will ensure system availability and security during off-hours, serving as the first line of defense for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Monitor federal IT systems, servers, and networks for anomalies during night shift hours.
- Respond to and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 help desk tickets with urgency and professionalism.
- Perform routine system backups, patch management, and software updates to maintain system integrity.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with federal standards (NIST, DIACAP).
- Document all technical issues, resolutions, and system changes in the CMDB (Configuration Management Database).
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to hand over status reports and critical alerts.
- Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software configurations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one (US Citizen required).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with federal network protocols and security compliance frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a night shift environment.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
