Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the city's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and related hardware/software infrastructure.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for internal users, including hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect the city's sensitive data and IT systems from cyber threats.
- Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery planning.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for the installation and maintenance of new IT equipment and software.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration within a government or corporate environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP), Windows Server administration, and Active Directory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
