Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) across city facilities.
- Provide tier-2 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Ensure compliance with government security standards and data protection regulations (NIST/FISMA).
- Monitor system performance and conduct regular security audits to prevent breaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade and modernize legacy systems.
- Document technical processes and create user guides for staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in network administration and system support.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to obtain a Kentucky driver's license and pass a background check.
