Responsibilities
- System Administration: Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot complex state agency IT infrastructure, ensuring 99.9% uptime for critical services.
- Security Compliance: Implement and maintain security protocols (e.g., MFA, encryption) to protect sensitive citizen data in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy software updates and hardware upgrades across multiple state departments.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical guidance and support to end-users, resolving complex issues to minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and incident reports.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors to ensure contract deliverables are met and systems are optimized.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT systems administration or technical support within a large enterprise or government environment.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar industry-recognized certifications are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java, SQL, Python, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is required.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a criminal background check and fingerprinting is mandatory for state employment.
