Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and security of our server infrastructure, including Windows Server environments and VMware virtualization platforms.
- System Optimization: Monitor system performance, analyze metrics, and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues to ensure 99.9% uptime for agency operations.
- Security Compliance: Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive taxpayer data and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and manage IT solutions that drive agency efficiency and support business objectives.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation, including configuration logs, disaster recovery plans, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Systems Administration, preferably within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Certifications: Active certification such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+, or CCNA is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, DHCP, DNS, and virtualization technologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
