Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local and wide-area network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
- Configure and manage server hardware, operating systems, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform routine maintenance to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and enforce robust security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus, and access controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support digital transformation initiatives and software deployments.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and guidance to internal county staff regarding hardware and software issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Valid California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record required for occasional travel to county facilities.
- 3+ years of professional experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and containerization technologies is highly preferred.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are a plus.
