Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the city's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to internal staff and resolve complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular system audits and perform preventive maintenance on servers, workstations, and peripherals.
- Collaborate with department heads to assess technology needs and propose scalable IT solutions.
- Document technical processes, create user manuals, and maintain accurate inventory records for all IT assets.
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls and resolve critical system outages promptly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support or network administration within a government or corporate environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CCNA are strongly desired.
- Proven experience with Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
