Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and administration of Windows Server environments, Linux systems, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Network Administration: Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, ensuring high availability and security of internal and external communications.
- System Security: Implement and enforce security protocols, patch management strategies, and compliance standards to protect sensitive government data.
- Hardware Support: Collaborate with procurement and facilities teams to deploy and manage hardware assets, including servers, storage arrays, and end-user devices.
- Incident Response: Lead the troubleshooting process for critical system outages and coordinate with third-party vendors for complex repairs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation, including configuration baselines, runbooks, and change management records.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications: Active certifications such as CompTIA Server+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate are strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in systems administration within a large-scale IT environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell scripting, and disaster recovery planning.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional overtime during system maintenance windows or emergencies.
