Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust IT systems and networks to support essential city operations.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure 99.9% uptime for critical applications.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technology needs and develop scalable solutions.
- Enforce rigorous cybersecurity protocols and conduct regular security audits to protect sensitive government data.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and city employees.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement of hardware and software solutions.
- Participate in strategic IT planning and disaster recovery initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration or IT support.
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Azure, or CompTIA Security+ are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, cloud computing (AWS/Azure), and database management systems.
- Experience working in a public sector or government environment is a significant plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
