Job Summary
The successful candidate will manage, maintain, and secure the City's local and wide-area networks. You will ensure 99.9% uptime for government services and provide technical leadership to junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and monitor network infrastructure (Routers, Switches, Firewalls).
- Implement and manage cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for end-users and internal systems.
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery testing.
- Collaborate with city departments to identify and resolve IT infrastructure issues.
- Document technical configurations and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent military/government experience).
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or CCNP is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration or systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.
- Experience with cloud services (Azure or AWS) is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-security government environment.
