Responsibilities
- Sort and Distribute Mail: Efficiently sort incoming mail and packages to ensure timely and accurate delivery to residential and business customers.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers professionally, answer inquiries regarding delayed or missing mail, and handle complaints with a positive attitude.
- Route Management: Plan daily delivery routes efficiently, ensuring all stops are completed within the allotted time frame.
- Physical Performance: Lift and carry mail weighing up to 70 lbs, walk and stand for extended periods, and navigate various terrains and weather conditions.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate USPS delivery vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Security & Safety: Maintain the security of the mail and the safety of your work environment, reporting any irregularities immediately.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Driver's License: A valid, current driver's license (Class B with air brakes endorsement is preferred for carriers) is mandatory.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift heavy objects, have good hand-eye coordination, and possess the physical stamina to walk 8-10 miles per day.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and a drug screening as part of the hiring process.
- Residency: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with diverse populations.
