Responsibilities
- Sort and process incoming mail and packages efficiently using automated sorting systems and manual methods.
- Deliver mail and parcels to residential and business addresses on established routes, ensuring accurate placement in mailboxes or at the delivery desk.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, resolving delivery issues, and obtaining signatures for certified or registered mail.
- Perform manual labor including lifting, carrying, and pushing packages weighing up to 70 lbs over varying terrain and weather conditions.
- Update delivery information in postal tracking systems and notify customers of missed deliveries when necessary.
- Inspect mail vehicles for safety and perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance checks.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and security guidelines to protect the integrity of the mail.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and a comprehensive medical examination.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and push packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly on a daily basis.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, and extreme heat.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to operate handheld scanning devices.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
