Responsibilities
- Mail Delivery: Sort, load, and deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers along an assigned route.
- Route Management: Efficiently manage time and resources to ensure all mail is delivered within the designated timeframe.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, handle inquiries, and manage redelivery situations professionally.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and vehicle safety standards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of delivery attempts, postage due, and special handling instructions.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate and perform minor maintenance on USPS delivery vehicles (if assigned to vehicle carrier position).
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check, drug test, and motor vehicle record check.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs and walk extensively in all weather conditions.
- License: Valid driver's license required (for vehicle carriers).
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and follow directions.
