Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Efficiently sort and process incoming and outgoing mail and packages using automated equipment and manual sorting techniques.
- Deliver Essential Services: Transport and deliver mail to homes and businesses along established routes in a timely and accurate manner, regardless of weather conditions.
- Operate Vehicles: Safely operate a USPS vehicle (van or truck) to transport mail between distribution centers and delivery points.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, answer inquiries, and resolve issues regarding missed or misdelivered mail.
- Physical Demands: Lift heavy parcels and mail sacks (up to 70 lbs), stand for extended periods, and walk on varied terrain.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory for carrier positions.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for long durations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with the public and team members.
- Reliability: Demonstrated punctuality, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
- Technology: Basic computer literacy and ability to operate scanning and sorting equipment.
