Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail and Packages: Sort and deliver mail to residential and business customers along an assigned route in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, resolving complaints, and handling registered/express mail with care.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate a large delivery vehicle (LLV) safely, ensuring regular maintenance and cleanliness of the equipment.
- Mail Processing: Prepare mail for delivery, including cancelling stamps and processing parcels, at the Post Office or on the street.
- Route Management: Follow the designated route map efficiently to ensure all stops are completed within the scheduled timeframe.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, traffic laws, and USPS policies while driving and handling mail.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or a resident alien (Green Card holder).
- Driver's License: A valid state driver's license is required with a safe driving record.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally and perform heavy physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and directions accurately.
