Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and maintain roads, bridges, sidewalks, and public facilities to ensure structural integrity and safety.
- Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, backhoes, and pavement breakers, following strict safety protocols.
- Perform general construction and utility maintenance tasks, including pothole patching and drainage clearing.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to execute infrastructure projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Ensure strict compliance with all city safety regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental policies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and daily site conditions.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices and signage.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required; vocational training in construction or public works is a plus.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform strenuous outdoor labor in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols, OSHA standards, and heavy equipment operation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screen.
