Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance of municipal infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment and specialized machinery safely and efficiently
- Coordinate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal regulations
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during weather events
- Collaborate with community leaders on neighborhood improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years infrastructure maintenance experience
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (Class A/B)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency with GPS equipment and digital reporting tools
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with public sector procurement processes preferred
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
