Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal vehicles and specialized equipment (street sweepers, snow removal, etc.)
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and traffic signals
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during extreme weather events
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city environmental standards
- Assist with community outreach during infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in civil infrastructure preferred
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrakes endorsement
- Minimum 2 years' experience in municipal maintenance or public works
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and heavy machinery operation
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and weather emergencies
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems (GIS experience a plus)
- Strong problem-solving skills and physical capability for outdoor work
- Must pass background check and pre-employment physical
