Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and landscaping for municipal projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, pressure washers) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in repairing public infrastructure including sidewalks, drainage systems, and street signs
- Maintain cleanliness and order in public parks, playgrounds, and recreation facilities
- Respond to emergency weather-related cleanup operations (hurricanes, floods)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project timelines and resource allocation
- Complete daily maintenance logs and incident reports with precise documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred (training provided)
- Experience with hand/power tools and basic equipment operation
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergency call-outs
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems preferred
