Responsibilities
- Perform street maintenance including pothole repairs and snow removal
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks) safely and efficiently
- Assist in park and public facility upkeep projects
- Respond to emergency public works calls during inclement weather
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal assets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure initiatives
- Adhere to all OSHA and DC safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Pass background check and drug screening
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic knowledge of DC municipal infrastructure systems
