Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, graders) for construction and maintenance projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, paving, and landscaping
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report maintenance needs
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and proper equipment handling protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on emergency response and storm recovery efforts
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Participate in community beautification initiatives and special events
Qualifications
- Valid Kentucky Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Strong communication skills and commitment to public service
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment maintenance
