Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on city buildings, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate specialized equipment including trucks, mowers, and hand/power tools
- Respond to emergency repairs during weather events and public safety incidents
- Conduct daily site inspections and maintain detailed work documentation
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on capital improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and environmental regulations
- Assist with seasonal projects including snow removal, landscaping, and facility upgrades
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Ohio driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years' experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Certification in equipment operation (CDL or heavy machinery) preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and physical fitness assessment
