Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities, parks, and sidewalks
- Operate heavy equipment (mowers, trucks, tractors) safely and efficiently
- Assist with stormwater drainage system inspections and repairs
- Respond to citizen service requests within 24-hour timeframe
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
- Participate in emergency weather response operations
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina Class B driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with GIS mapping systems a plus
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical exam
