Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on public parks, buildings, and roadways
- Operate heavy equipment including tractors, mowers, and snow removal tools
- Inspect and repair municipal infrastructure (sidewalks, signs, drainage systems)
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during inclement weather
- Coordinate with other city departments on infrastructure projects
- Complete accurate maintenance logs and incident reports
- Adhere to all OSHA and city safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of facilities or infrastructure maintenance experience
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and basic diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
