Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities including parks, buildings, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery (snowplows, graders, trenchers) and specialized municipal equipment
- Respond to emergency weather events and infrastructure repairs within 4-hour response time
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks on public assets per OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on urban beautification projects
- Document maintenance activities using city-issued digital reporting systems
- Train on new green infrastructure initiatives including rain garden installations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in maintenance/construction
- Valid Ohio Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Experience with municipal GIS mapping systems or CAD software
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Basic understanding of Ohio EPA water/wastewater regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills with emergency response training
