Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and installation of public infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and park facilities.
- Operate heavy machinery, such as dump trucks, backhoes, and graders, following all safety protocols.
- Inspect work sites for safety hazards and ensure compliance with city ordinances and environmental regulations.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and service requests from the public in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance schedules.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Technical or trade school certification is a plus.
- Valid New Mexico Class B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) or ability to obtain one; Class A preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, general maintenance, or a related field.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working in various weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as mechanical systems.
