Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on city vehicles, heavy machinery, and public works equipment.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain water and sewer infrastructure, including pumps and valves.
- Assist in the construction and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and traffic control devices.
- Operate a variety of tools, including hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and municipal codes.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repair logs.
- Respond to emergency calls and perform routine field inspections.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, construction, or mechanical repair.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
