Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair public parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities
- Perform routine inspections of city buildings and infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including tractors, mowers, and power tools
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during inclement weather
- Collaborate with community leaders on neighborhood improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Maryland Class C driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years experience in facility or grounds maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
