Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and park facilities.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, and dump trucks.
- Inspect work sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and city standards.
- Respond to emergency service requests and perform repairs under time-sensitive conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate with other city departments to support community projects and events.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or public works.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Must pass a post-offer medical examination, including drug and alcohol screening.
