Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on city facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, graders, and asphalt equipment safely and efficiently
- Implement stormwater management systems and erosion control measures
- Coordinate emergency response during severe weather events including snow removal and flood mitigation
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety compliance checks
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document maintenance activities using digital work order systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in facility maintenance or construction
- Valid Tennessee Class B CDL with air brake endorsement
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and maintenance software (SAP CMMS preferred)
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Tennessee Wastewater Operator Grade I certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Successful completion of background check and pre-employment physical
