Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes and street sweepers
- Perform routine inspections of municipal assets
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public projects
- Adhere to OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting tools
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid North Carolina Class B driver's license
- 2+ years of maintenance or construction experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
