Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, alleys, and public right-of-way.
- Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment, including dump trucks, jackhammers, and pavement breakers.
- Inspect infrastructure for safety hazards, structural deficiencies, or code violations.
- Respond to and resolve citizen complaints regarding public infrastructure and maintenance issues.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and municipal policies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather events.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Vocational or Technical training in Public Works or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or public works operations.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of traffic control devices and safety protocols.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
