Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including roads, parks, and public buildings
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service requests during weather events and city-wide incidents
- Conduct daily inspections of municipal assets to identify maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital improvement projects
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., dump trucks, backhoes)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
