Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal buildings, parks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment including trucks, mowers, and specialized maintenance tools
- Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions for public infrastructure
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather or public safety incidents
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Illinois Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in facility maintenance or construction trades
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
