Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city buildings, parks, and recreational facilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery including snow plows, street sweepers, and landscaping equipment
- Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during inclement weather
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and inventory records
- Adhere to all OSHA and municipal safety regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years' experience in facility maintenance or public works
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC knowledge
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends during emergencies
