Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with snow and ice removal during inclement weather events to ensure public safety.
- Inspect public facilities and report necessary repairs or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Respond promptly to citizen service requests and work orders regarding public property.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments to support city-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driverβs License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or public works preferred.
- Physical ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as small equipment operation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
