Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.
- Operate heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, snowplows, loaders, and mowers.
- Assist in snow and ice control operations during winter months to ensure public safety.
- Collect and transport waste, recyclables, and bulk items according to city schedules.
- Inspect public works sites for hazards, damage, or code violations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all OSHA safety regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License (Class B CDL preferred but not always required for entry-level).
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) and perform manual labor in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction, landscaping, or public works operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety standards.
