Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, garbage trucks, snowplows)
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public facilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Coordinate with sanitation and public works departments
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during extreme weather
- Train junior staff on equipment operation and safety procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- Certification in municipal maintenance or related field preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and digital reporting tools
